Scholarship Benefits: Leeds Doctoral Scholarships provide fully funded support for 3.5 years of full-time doctoral studies, with a pro-rata arrangement for part-time scholars. The scholarship is initially awarded for one year, renewable for up to an additional 2.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. The comprehensive support package includes full academic fees, a generous maintenance grant (ÂŁ18,622 for 2023/24), and anticipated annual increases in line with the UKRI rate.
Eligible Nationalities: The scholarships are open to international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the Leeds Doctoral Scholarship, applicants must meet certain criteria:
- Applicants must not have previously been awarded or currently be pursuing a doctoral degree.
- Awardees must commence their studies by 1 October 2024 and reside reasonably close to the University of Leeds throughout the scholarship duration.
Academic and Language Requirements: Prospective applicants should have an undergraduate First Degree equivalent to a UK First Class Honours degree or substantial alternative experience or qualifications, such as achieving Distinction in a relevant Master’s program. Additionally, an overall IELTS score of 6.0 is required, with no individual component falling below 5.5 unless specified otherwise by the specific school or faculty.
