The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme 2025 is a prestigious national initiative funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and managed by the Irish Research Council. This program provides individual awards to outstanding researchers across all disciplines, supporting Master’s and Ph.D. studies in Ireland.

• Total Value: Up to €31,000 per year
• Stipend: €22,000 per year
• Tuition Fee Contribution: Up to €5,750 per year for all students, including non-EU students

• Open to students from the European Union (EU), Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and international students globally.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Preliminary Eligibility Check: Complete and pass a preliminary eligibility quiz before accessing the full application form.
2. Age Limit: There is no age restriction for applicants.
3. Institutional Affiliation: Be affiliated with an eligible Irish higher education institution or research-performing organization.
4. Language of Application: Applications must be submitted in either Irish or English.
5. Previous Applications: Applicants may not have had more than two unsuccessful applications to the same program, including strategic partner themes, regardless of changes in host institution or research topic.
