Overview
The United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Research Fellowship 2025 offers two fellowships worth €50,000 each to exceptional researchers in the field of digestive diseases. This fellowship provides early-career scientists with a unique opportunity to work for 12 months with leading European principal investigators, enhancing their research skills and expanding their scientific network.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Membership: Be a myUEG Associate
- Research Specialization: Clinical or basic researchers specialized in digestive diseases
- Education: Have completed their PhD within the last five years or be in the process of gastroenterology, hepatology, or surgery training, or have completed it within the last five years (add two years per child for the main carer, but max. 4 years)
- Position: Not holding an academic permanent position
- Experience: Have significant research experience according to their track record
- Language Proficiency: Be fluent in English
- Residency: Reside in Europe, in a country bordering the Mediterranean Sea, or in a country represented by a UEG National Member Society
At least one of the fellowships will be assigned to a top-ranked candidate from an Inclusiveness Target Country as defined by COST Actions. The final decision is made by the Research Committee.

Reporting Requirements
Fellows and PIs are required to provide feedback reports. Fellows must:
- Publish results
- Submit to UEG Journal
- Present at UEG Week
- Participate in Young GI Lounge
- Give recommendations
- Write reports
